How do I pay for the material I want?
|
| You can purchase any
of our material with a credit card, check or money order.
To pay with a credit card, simply
click on the "Add to Cart" button for the skit or other
material you want to purchase. When you are ready to check
out, click on the "Proceed to Checkout" button, and
follow the steps. All of our credit card payments are processed
through a company called PayPal,
a reputable company that many internet businesses use. If you've
ever purchased anything on E-Bay, chances are you have used PayPal. However,
you do not have to be or become a PayPal customer in order to purchase
from us. PayPal will process your credit card but you do not have to
create an account with them.
If you want to purchase by Check or Money
Order you can print out an Order form by selecting
the "Order by Mail" button. Fill out and mail
in the order form with your check or money order and upon receiving the
payment, we will send you a receipt and process your order.

How do I receive my skit, once I've paid for
it?
|
| Once you've paid
for your skit there are two ways you can receive or download the skit:
1. Through the e-mail, you
will receive a "receipt" from PayPal (or if ordering via mail
the "receipt" will come from Skits and Stuff once we receive
your order). Using the "Receipt Number," a series of 16
numbers and 3 dashes (Ex. 2632-7211-3482-3579) or
"Transaction ID" a series of 16 letter/numbers go to our Download
Skits page and follow the steps, which include entering your e-mail
and the "Receipt ID" or "Transaction ID." Once this is done, another page
will appear, and you will click on the link with the name of your
skit. The skit should open as a Word Document.
OR
2. Along with your
receipt, you will also receive an e-mail from Skits and Stuff itemizing
what you have purchased and the status of each item. Click on the link from within that e-mail
and you will go directly to the "Download Skits" page. Your skits will be listed at the top where you
can click on the name of the skit you want to download.
NOTE: Some customers have reported a problem
receiving the 2nd e-mail (from Skits and Stuff) due to computer e-mail
"blockers." This e-mail may be automatically or
unknowingly sent to your "junk" folder or "trash
bin," and you may never even see it. If for some reason you
don't receive the e-mail from Skits and Stuff, check your
"junk" or "trash" folders to see if it has landed
there or go to our "Download
Skits" page, and follow the instructions.
For Check or Money Order purchases,
once we receive payment you will receive an e-mail from Skits and
Stuff, which will be your "receipt" and will also have a link(s)
used to download your skits. Depending on where you
live, you may receive your skit within 2-4 business days once you mail
the check or money order.
|
How do I receive my VBS or Children's
Curriculum once I've paid for it?

Cost, Customizing, Editing &
Other Skit Questions
|

|
|
How much does a skit cost?
|
|
All drama skits are $10.00. Individual puppet
skits are $7.00 and the cost of puppet skit sets vary, depending on how
many skits are in the set.
|
Why should I pay for a skit when I can get a skit for
free somewhere else?
|
|
There may be times when you won't pay for a skit. You might
find exactly what you're looking for on another site where you can download
skits for free. Then, there will be times when you can only find what
you're looking for here at this site. Depending on your need at the time
and what it's worth to you, you may choose to settle for a free skit that is
somewhat close to your topic, and at other times you may choose to buy a skit
that is a closer fit for your theme. Also, there may be times when you
can't find anything that suits your needs, and you require something to be
written especially for you. Most of the free skit sites won't do that
for you, but we can. So, it's up to you, as to what your specific needs
are at any given time. We are simply another resource. It is our hope,
however, that once you give us a try, you will be satisfied with the end
results and will continue to let us supply material for your future needs.
|
What if I can't find a specific topic I'm looking for?
|
|
If you can't find something that currently fits your needs, we have an
option for you. Go to our Custom Skits
page to find out how we can write something especially suited for you.
|
Can I make copies of your skits?
|
|
Yes, once you buy a skit you are free to make as many copies as you
need. However, please only distribute the copies within your own group
or organization. You have permission to copy the skit for your own
needs, but you may not sell or give the skit away to anyone else. Also,
make sure all copies have my name and website listed on it. When you download
our skits, this information will automatically be included at the bottom of
the last page.
|
What if I want to change or edit your skit?
|
|
Feel free to do so, however, please retain the information listed at the
bottom of each skit, including my name and website. If you do change
large portions of the skit's content, include something like "Based on an
original script by Rayeann Longwell, from www.skitsandstuff.com"
or "based on an idea from Rayeann Longwell at
www.skitsandstuff.com," at the bottom of your page. You may not sell
the changed scripts.
|
How long are the skits?
|
|
Both drama skits and puppet skits may vary in length, but in general, skits range from 5-10 minutes
long.
|
|
Why can't I purchase some of the puppet skits in a
set individually?
Some of the puppet skits in the set build upon each other from week to
week. There may be references or explanations from previous week's
skits, and if taken out of the set to be used individually, the skit may not
make sense.

Children's Church
& VBS: Editing, Length & Puppet Use
|

|
|
Why do you use puppets as part of your curriculum?
|
|
Puppets are a great way to introduce stories to children because the characters
can be very "animated" and can possess capabilities that human actors
can't. Puppets are very versatile. Also, puppets seem to relate to
children on "their" level, and can be entertaining as well as
informative. Using puppets instead of actors can also make your program
easier, since scripts can be taped to the puppet stage and actors can read
the skit instead of having to memorize lengthy lines. It is
often easier to recruit puppeteers instead of "on-stage" actors for
this reason. Puppeteers can also be more flexible, since anyone can fill
in when needed, due to sickness or other necessary absence. Using puppets also
allows people who might be more hesitant to appear in front of an audience, the
opportunity to hide behind a man-made stage.
|
What if I don't want to use puppets in our program?
|
|
The puppets do enhance the overall program and we strongly recommend using
them but they are not necessary in order to teach the lesson, so you can still
use our curriculum. The puppet skits in our material are used as an
introduction to the lesson being taught that day--they do not actually teach
the material being covered, so the lessons and activities used with our
curriculum can be taught with or without the puppets.
Or, we've heard of some churches using their youth
group or even their own classroom kids in place of puppets. Anyone can
stand in for a puppet as long as he or she can read!
|
Can I make copies of the curriculum?
|
|
Yes, once you buy curriculum you are free to make as many copies as you
need. However, please only distribute the copies within your own group
or organization. You have permission to copy the curriculum for your own
needs, but you may not sell or give it away to anyone else. Also, make
sure all copies have my name and website listed on it. When you download our
curriculum, this information will automatically be included on the appropriate
pages.
|
What if I want to change or edit your curriculum?
|
| Feel free to do so, however, please retain the copyright information listed
on the pages of the material, including my name and website. If you do
change large portions of the content, include something like "Based on
material by Rayeann Longwell, from www.skitsandstuff.com" or
"based on an idea from Rayeann Longwell at
www.skitsandstuff.com," at the bottom of your page. You may not sell
the changed curriculum.
|
How long does the curriculum run?
|
The children's church curriculum series may vary,
but in general it is written for either a 4, 6, or 8 week time frames, and
depending on how you choose to use it, each week's material can last from 30- 60 minutes. The material is flexible so you can choose the
activities to best suit your individual program.
VBS also may vary, but is generally designed for
5-6 days. Again, the material is flexible, so depending on how you
choose to set up your time frame, it can run anywhere from 90 minutes to
120 minutes or longer.

Refunds
|

|
How can I get a refund?
|
Skits: Because
skits are electronically downloaded, we cannot give a refund. If for
some reason you never downloaded your skit (the programs we use notify us
as to the status of the downloads), you can contact us and we will
give you a refund. Refunds are only given on skits if they have not
been downloaded from our website.
Children's Church & VBS: If the
material has not yet been mailed, you can receive a full refund. If
the material has already been mailed, once you receive it, you have 30
days to return the entire curriculum for a refund, minus a $15 handling
fee. We will not refund money until we have received the returned
material.

What makes your company different from others?
|
|
- We offer a variety of written materials that are fresh, fun, creative
and different. It's not the "same old" stuff.
- Writing is our business. We have the ability to dedicate
our time to the
needs of our clients, unlike many other sites who are maintained by people who have regular
jobs and who use their website as a secondary source of
income or as a hobby.
- Our database is constantly growing.
- Our material is not "preachy." We don't believe it's our job to "preach"
to people but rather to introduce a
thought or inspire one's own thinking, which is reflective in our material.
- You can preview samples of the material before you buy it.
|
How long have you been in business?
|
| Although we have been writing material for
various churches we have attended for many years, Skits and Stuff
officially began in January of 2005.
|
Where did the name come from?
|
| Originally, all we wrote
were skits, but eventually the other material was born out of
necessity. We also have some other ideas for the future, and since
all of these items were hard to classify into one category, we just
chose to combine our skit writing, with other "stuff."
So, the only name that seemed appropriate was Skits and Stuff.
