Puppet Skit SampleI Said I Was Sorry
Characters: Dirk (a city boy), Hans (an Amish boy), Skippy the dog & Mrs. Yoder (Hans' Mom) Props: Football for Hans, baggie of broken glass or perhaps ice cubes…anything that can simulate noise of something breaking (For behind the stage), actual pieces of something broken (for pieces of Mrs. Yoder's vase) Hans: (with football in hands) Oh boy, my very own football! I’ve been saving my allowance for a month to get this. I can’t wait to play with it. My mom said I’m not supposed to play ball in the house but it’s raining outside so I can’t go out. I’m sure my mom will understand if I only throw it around once or twice. I’ve been waiting a long time for this. I think I’ll go in the living room where there’s more space. (Hans leaves.) Hans: (from backstage) This is great! I love this football! (there should be a slight pause, then we hear something break). Uh-oh! Mrs. Yoder: (calling from backstage) Hans, what happened? I heard something break. Are you okay? Hans? (Discovering the broken vase, she gasps. Mrs. Yoder enters with a few of the broken pieces.) Oh my goodness, my flower vase… it’s ruined. (more angry now) Hans, you get in here right now! Hans: (enters) Yes, mom? Mrs. Yoder: Do you know anything about this, Hans? Hans: (playing innocent) It looks like broken glass. Mrs. Yoder: It’s not just any broken glass. This was the flower vase your Aunt Gretta gave to me on my wedding day. Hans: Oh? Mrs. Yoder: How did it get broken? Hans: Maybe it fell off the shelf. Mrs. Yoder: Maybe, but then why did I find a football, your football, lying in the middle of all the glass? |
