Puppet Skit Sample

 Party Pooper

Characters: Dirk (a city boy), Hans  (an Amish boy), Skippy the dog & Mr. & Mrs. Yoder (Hans' Parents)

Props: None

Hans: I can’t believe you’re going back home tomorrow.

Dirk: Me either. This month has gone by really fast. I hate to admit it, but I think I’m going to miss this place.

Skippy: What? The city boy is going to miss us "hicks?"

Hans: I’m not surprised Dirk.

Skippy: I am!

Dirk: Well, I am.

Skippy: I just said that.

Dirk: That first week I was here I hated it.

Skippy: (sarcastically) But you hid your emotions so well. NOT!

Dirk: At first, I was really mad at my parents for sending me here. But after spending some time in the country I realize why my parents wanted me to visit. It’s a lot different than what I’m used to at home, but it’s not that bad. I actually like it.

Hans: I bet you’ll be glad to have your electricity back though, huh?

Dirk: Honestly, yeah! But I’m glad I got to come here.

Hans: Me too. You’ve changed a lot since you’ve been here Dirk. We’re all going to miss you when you leave.

Dirk: I don’t know about everyone…your dog doesn’t seem to like me very much.

Skippy: Hmmm, I wonder why? Maybe because you pulled my tail, hid my dog bones, pulled out some of my fur, stepped on my paw, and knocked over my water dish.

Hans: You were kind of mean to him the first few weeks you were here.

Dirk: Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m sorry I wasn’t so nice to you Skippy. Can I make it up to you?

(Skippy turns his head away and says something like "Hmmph.")

Dirk: Not even if I tell you where I hid your dog bones?
