Puppet Skit SampleHorsing Around
Characters: Dirk (a city boy), Hans (an Amish boy), Skippy the dog & Mr. Yoder (Hans' Dad) Props: A comic book for Dirk to hold up. Hans: (whining) But dad, I don’t want to clean out the barn. It stinks in there! Skippy: Yeah, it really reeks! Mr. Yoder: I know it stinks in there Hans, that’s why the stalls need to be cleaned out, and why it needs to be done today. The old hay needs to be swept up and removed and new hay needs to be put down. Hans: But why do I have to clean out the barn? Can’t I do something else? Anything else? Mr. Yoder: The barn is what needs to be cleaned today Hans. I really need your help. Hans: But I hate cleaning out the horse stalls. It’s so disgusting! I don’t want to do it dad. Dirk: I’ll do it Mr. Yoder. Hans: (turns his head to Dirk, in shock) You will? Skippy: (even more shocked) You will? Dirk: Sure. Piece of cake. Mr. Yoder: Well thank you Dirk. That’s very nice of you to offer. You’ll find the pitchfork behind the barn next to the stacks of hay. I’ve got to get out to the fields now, so I’ll see you two boys this evening. (Mr. Yoder leaves) Dirk: (calling after him) See you later Mr. Yoder. Don’t worry about anything. I’ll do a good job on the barn. Skippy: You’re going to clean out the barn? Do you even know what a pitchfork is? Hans: That was sure swell of you to volunteer to clean out the barn Dirk. At least I won’t have to do it now. But, do you know what you’re doing? Do you even know what a pitchfork is? Skippy: (turning to Dirk) My thoughts exactly.
