Needles: (moaning, heard off stage) Oh no, not again!

Striper: (enters) Needles, is that you?

Needles: (from off stage) Yes.

Striper: Where are you?

Needles: I’m behind the cage.

Striper: Well, come out so I can see you.

Needles: (begins to sob) No, I can’t.

Striper: Why not?

Needles: I’m too embarrassed, Striper.

Striper: What’s the matter? Are you okay?

Needles: I can’t tell you.

Striper: Sure you can. We’re friends. Come out here.

Needles: I don’t know...

Striper: Maybe I can help.

Needles: I doubt it.

Striper: At least let me try. Come out and talk to me. Please?

Needles: Okay. (enters, crying)

Striper: Now, what’s wrong Needles?

Needles: Don’t pretend you don’t notice!

Striper: Notice what? I don’t see anything.

Needles: (she turns her back to Striper) Look at this!

Striper: (gasps) Oh!
