Children's Church Curriculum
|

|
Our children's
church curriculum is puppet driven, meaning that each week puppet
characters will introduce the day's theme by participating in their own
parallel adventures. Storytelling is told at a child's level, so
comprehension is easy. Object lessons, memory verses, review questions,
and other activities are included to enhance learning. Series
lengths may vary but in general run 4 or 8 weeks. Kids will love
the fun, "hands-on learning approach, and teachers will love the
simple, easy-to-follow format.
Due to the
popularity and need for skits of all kinds, we will no longer be adding a
yearly VBS or children's church curriculum to our database.
Instead, we will focus on developing new and fresh dramas and puppet
skits. We apologize for this inconvenience; however, our previously
written materials are still available.

What makes our
curriculum unique?

-
It's used in conjunction with puppets.
Puppets are a great way to introduce stories to children because the characters
can be very "animated" and can possess capabilities that human actors
can't. Puppets are very versatile. Also, puppets seem to relate to
children on "their" level, and can be entertaining as well as
informative. Using puppets instead of actors can also make your program
easier, since scripts can be taped to the puppet stage and actors can read
the skit instead of having to memorize lengthy lines. With
puppets, you also have the ability to pre-record character voices, so if
necessary, all you need is someone willing to operate a puppet.
Several websites offer more information on puppet ministry and ways to
obtain your own puppet characters. Click on any of the links below for

It uses creative storytelling told at a child's level.
Too many times material is written more for adults than children, using big
words and ideas that children don't comprehend. Our material, however, is written with children in mind, so we strive to
tell stories using words and examples that a child not only understands, but
finds interesting and fun as well.
-
It's relevant to experiences in a child's life.
We take stories from the
Bible and apply them to what children are going through today. Children are
not only more likely to listen, but will retain and remember information more
easily. In addition, if kids
can't relate to the story in some way, then all you have in the end is just a
"nice story." However, if you can make the themes apply to their
current situations, you begin to impact and change their lives.
-
It's versatile and easy to use.
Our curriculum is meant to be used in a Children's Church type setting. Each program
generally runs approx. 45-60 minutes in length, but can be easily adjusted to
fit any time frame. You may want to extend one section and shorten
another, or skip a section altogether. The curriculum is flexible in
order to meet the various needs of individual churches. Each lesson is clearly laid
out and while some information may vary, in general, each unit contains: an
overview of the series, suggested order of events, weekly lesson summaries,
Bible stories, object lessons, memory verses, puppet skits, activities to
reinforce the day's theme, review questions, prop lists, overheads, and weekly
take home sheets.
-
It allows you to view a sample before you buy.
Ever see a curriculum that sounded good, but based only on the short one or
two line summaries, you have no idea if it's what you really want? We
try to take the "guessing" game out of the equation by offering as
much detail as we possibly can to our customers. Then, we take it a step
further and allow you to actually view a sample before you purchase the entire
curriculum. Each series has a detailed
summary, projecting what you can expect, and we offer a sample preview of the series'
first week, including excerpts from the puppet skit, teacher's
lessons and activities.
-
It allows for "hands-on" learning.
If learning is fun and exciting,
with a "hands-on" approach, children will retain more of what they see
and hear, and they will look forward to learning more. So, we try to put
new spins on old concepts, and incorporate as much student involvements as
possible.
